Beijing Film Academy is the largest film institute in China and even in Asia. Since the founding of Beijing Film Academy over 50 years ago, a multi-level, multi-disciplinary film education system，with a focus on film production has been formed.

　　The teaching system of BFA stresses higher education with programs in PhD, Master, Bachelor, junior college diploma and continuous education programs for adults like training and long distance course and part-time evening courses. 　　Self-funding 4 year's undergraduate student:

　　1, high school diploma; 2, at least HSK 6 level; 3, taking BA entrance exam of BFA is a must; 4, medical examination; 5, bank certificate;

　　Self-funding 3 year' postgraduate student:

　　1, under the age of 40; 2, holding a BS or BA degree; 3, at least HSK 6 level; 4, two recommendation letters from associate or full professors; 5, taking MA entrance exam at BFA is a must; 6, medical examination; 7, bank certificate;

　　Self-funding 3 years' PhD student:

　　1, under the age of 45;2, holding a MS or MA degree ;3,at least HSK 8 level ;4, two recommendation letters from associate or full professors; 5, taking PHD entrance exam at BFA is a must; 6, medical examination;7, bank certificate;

　　One or two years' training programs:

　　1, high school diploma or university graduation certificate or degrees; 2, HSK 4 level; 3, some relevant background;

　　Advanced 1 or 2 years' training programs:

　　1, holding MA or MS degrees or PhD; 2, HSK 8 Level; 3, intending to improve one's proficiency under the supervision of Chinese professors;

　　One or two years' Chinese language program:

　　1, above the age of 18; 2, holding high school diploma or university degrees;

　　Short-period Chinese language program:

　　1, Applicants from foreign schools, non-government organizations, company, foreign institutions in China; 2, Minimum study period: two weeks; 3, Medical examinations.

　　Note: 1, applicants who want to take the entrance BA, MA or PhD exam or those for training programs without Chinese language qualifications may study Chinese for HSK first at BFA.

　　2, for applicants who want to take the entrance BA, MA or PhD exam with Chinese language qualifications may choose to study relevant fields at BFA for half or one year before exam.

　　For BA Program applicants:

　　Downloading Application Forms for Overseas BA Applicants and Admission Introduction for next year at www.cztlqx.com for more information on majors, registering, test date and test subject Each December.

　　For MA program applicants:

　　Downloading Application Forms for Overseas MA Applicants, Admission Introduction for next year and Confidential Recommendation Letter form at www.cztlqx.com for more information on majors, registering, test date and test subject beginning from the middle of October each year.

　　For PhD program applicants:

　　Downloading Application Forms for Overseas PhD Applicants, Admission Introduction for next year and Recommendation Letter form at www.cztlqx.com for more information on majors, registering, test date and test subject beginning from the end of October each year.

　　For Beijing Municipal Scholarship Applicants:

　　Besides the above-mentioned procedures，applicants are also required to fill in the Scholarship Application Form, which can be downloaded from our website. Usually, we just accept application for study more than one year at BFA.

　　For Applicants to Receive Scholarship from CSC:

　　Applicants submit application materials to China Scholarship Council via Cultural and Educational Institutions of their home countries. Application materials, after being reviewed and approved by CSC, are delivered to BFA. We make admission decisions on the basis of submitted materials and applicants' entrance exams results. (All BA, MA, and PhD applicants must take corresponding entrance exam at BFA).

　　For Chinese Language and Film Major Applicants:

　　Applicants should first send, e-mail or fax completed application form to International School, which can be obtained through BFA website. BFA will mail Admission Notice and JW202 form to qualified applicants. Application time is from October to December for spring admission, from April to June for autumn admission each year.

　　International Students supported by local or nongovernmental organization should act according to the agreement signed with our school. For the registration time, see the above.

　　Visa procedure and Enrollment

　　For self-funding applicants, please go to Chinese Embassies located in their home countries with admission notice and JW202 form.

　　For CSC applicants, please go to Chinese Embassies located in their home countries with admission notice and JW201 form.

　　According to relevant regulation of China, international applicants with passport, who want to study in China over one year, should apply for X visa; after coming to China, it is required to apply for Temporary Residence Permit.

　　Please enroll at BFA at specified time. Admission qualification will be canceled if applicants don't register on due dates.

　　Semesters and Graduation

　　Semesters: two semesters each year; the autumn semester lasts from September to January next year, the spring semester lasts from March to July.

　　Graduation:

　　For BA, MA，PhD students, they are allowed to graduate only after they finish all the required courses successfully and pass dissertation debate. Upon graduation, they will be conferred BA, MA, or PhD.

　　For training courses applicants, they will be granted training certificate, if they finish relevant course requirement.

　　Tuitions and fees:

　　Film programs fee standard:

　　Signing-up fees standard: 800RMB for BA, MA, and PhD applicants; 400RMB for training program applicants.

　　Tuition:

　　38000RMB---46000RMB per academic year for BA students

　　45000RMB----54000RMB per academic year for MA students

　　45000RMB per academic year for PhD students

　　46000RMB per academic year for training program student

　　Note: above-mentioned fees don't include practice fees, which vary with different majors.

　　Fee standards for Chinese language program:

　　9000RMB per semester

　　800RMB per week for short training students studying for no more than one semester

　　Medical insurance:

　　600RMB for one year each person, 400 RMB for half year each person

　　Accommodation standard

　　Double Room 50RMB for each person every day;

　　Single Room 85RMB for each person every day;

　　Outside campus residence is allowed, but a copy of temporary residence registration form is required to be submitted to international school of BFA.

　　Our overseas student building is well equipped, which provides a good environment. In order to enrich overseas students' part-time life and let them know more about Chinese culture, we organize two trips each year. We welcome those who love film to study at BFA.
